PVR (Priya Village Roadshow) Cinemas is the largest cinema exhibitor in India. The company, part of the Australian Village Roadshow group, began its commercial operations in June 1997 with the launch of PVR Anupam in Saket, India's first multiplex. PVR was formed after Priya cinema of Delhi entered into a tie-up with Village Roadshow.

By introducing the multiplex concept in India, PVR Cinemas brought in a whole new paradigm shift to the cinema viewing experience: high class seating, state-of-the-art screens and audio-visual systems. PVR went on to command a significant presence in New Delhi, Lucknow,Indore, the NCR and Bangalore. It is a relative newcomer to other parts of the county, especially in Mumbai where there are many other established multiplex companies. PVR has also introduced the Hollywood Walk of Fame concept into India. Bollywood stars can be found at certain PVR locations.

As of mid-2006, PVR has 62 screens in 16 locations. Of these, PVR Bangalore is the biggest multiplex with 11 screens. It is housed in Forum Mall in Koramangala which is arguably the busiest mall in Bangalore. Recently they opened 5 screen multiplex in Hyderabad.
