Farmers discontinue to work on Arkavathy layout demanding compensation
BANGALORE: Farmers stopped work on Arkavathy Layout on Sunday, demanding compensation. Nearly 50 farmers from Amruthahalli protested against the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for not giving them compensation for their lands, which they have given up for layout formation.
Rain cools Bangalore
BANGALORE: It was not a sunny weekend in Bangalore as a short but heavy downpour brought down the temperature. For a minute it seemed the old Bangalore weather was back. But Usha's mother later thought it wise to help her son Girish buy an autorickshaw and pledged the gold for the same. Girish, a degree holder, decided to run an auto for a living after he failed to get a job.
